Shaker Oval Boxes
These are the typical boxes that were made by the Shakers.   Thousands upon thousands were sold to the "world" to hold the beans, flour, nut and bolts, nails, rice, sugar, and hundred of other everday items.   Few original boxes ever painted or finished as they were meant to receive hard use. Our online store offers Shaker Round Boxes through Size #6.   However larger sizes are available upon request; but please note that wood choices become more limited on larger box sizes. Our Shaker reproduction and Shaker inspired products are made in the traditional manner.   Each item is individually crafted and no two are ever exactly alike.   The swallowtails are held together with copper tacks made on a machine that was making tacks over 100 years ago.   Our finishing process is described in our article Shaker Wood Finishes .   But before you purchase, please read our Philosophy on Milk Painting and check out our Milk Paint Colors . Shipping and handling will be calculated at checkout and are not included in the product pricing shown on this page.   Shipping and handling for our Shaker Bentware is generally $12.50 per order, regardless of the size of the order.   Tennessee residents will be charged state and local sales tax upon checkout.
