Shaker Sewing Accessories
In the 1800s sewing and knitting, "the domestic arts", was practiced by most women and young ladies.   Today it is still a popular art medium.   Our tall round cup is designed to hold scissors, pencils, screwdrivers, and other sewing tools.   We have also designed and craft a Shaker Scissors Box that holds embroidery scissors.   This box is engraved with the word "Scissors" on the box top and come in a very large selection of top woods.   Our most popular sewing accessory is our needle boxes.   These boxes contain a magnetic strip for keep those pesky needles in the box even when you drop it.   But most people fall in love with those exotic tops.   Call us or send us an email to see what we have in stock.   Our last accessory is our Shaker Sewing Thread Box, engraved with "Thread" on the top. Our Shaker reproduction and Shaker inspired products are made in the traditional manner.   Each item is individually crafted and no two are ever exactly alike.   The swallowtails are held together with copper tacks made on a machine that was making tacks over 100 years ago.   Our finishing process is described in our article Shaker Wood Finishes .   But before you purchase, please read our Philosophy on Milk Painting and check out our Milk Paint Colors .
