 Shaker Coffee Tables and Stands |

Classic designs put to a new purpose is the hallmark of our Shaker inspired coffee tables and coffee table stands. We combine our Shaker inspired serving trays with the styling of the Shaker footstools to produce our coffee tables. The coffee table serving tray is not permanent attached to the coffee table stand. Instead the weight of the serving tray combined with bumpons attached to the tops of the coffee table stand serve to hold the tray firmly in place. But it also allows for the tray to be removed and used elsewhere within your house. The designs for our Shaker coffee table stands are taken from Ejner Handberg's "Shop Drawings of Shaker Furniture and Woodware, Volumes 1, 2, & 3". Handberg had made detailed drawings of Shaker furniture based on original items that had been in his shop for restoration and reproduction over a period of decades. In his book he detailed two different sizes of footstools and we have adapted these sizes and styles to fit our coffee table stands. While we produce coffee tables and coffee table stands in a number of preset dimensions, their uses cry for modifications to suit your needs. For example, we find people using the smaller sizes as end table; elongating the coffee table stand height to match their sofa or chair heights. Others wish to have the coffee table tray "turned over" so that there is no lip on top of the table; while others desire to have the coffee table tray bottom placed in the middle of the band. All of these modification and others are available and are priced using the same formulas used for our standard sized coffee tables.
