Shaker Stacked Oval Boxes Shaker Bentware

The "Tupperware" of another generation, Shaker boxes have evolved from their utilitarian roots.   Anchored in original Shaker examples, today you can purchase oval boxes, round boxes, oval serving trays, presentation boxes, baskets, carriers, and more.   Your heirloom may be finished in the same formula milk paints that were used generations earlier; or with the high tech polymer finishes of today.

The Shakers were certainly adaptable, and used whatever the could to lessen the work and produce a better product.   Likewise we use the power tools of my time; but retain the tradition of not finishing the insides of my boxes.   We use the traditional bending woods of maple and cherry; while using a few others such as birds eye maple, walnut, oak, and hop hornbean.   For the more showy presentation boxes we may use imported exotic woods or some unique species found in the hills of East Tennessee.

In each and every item you will discover the Shaker attributes of tradition, adaptability and innovation.   Crafted to be enjoyed for their beauty and functionality; these items are ones that can be used and enjoyed for generations to come.
